CNC Wire EDM
Electrical Discharge Machining (EDM) is a nontraditional method of removing metal by a series of rapidly recurring electrical discharges between an electrode (the cutting tool, in this case a wire) and the work piece. The minute metal chips are removed by melting and vaporization and are washed away by the continuously flushing dielectric fluid.
Wire EDM can cut materials regardless of hardness or toughness and is only limited to machining of electrically conductive work piece materials. This is well suited for parts which are made from materials difficult to machine or are odd-shaped with intricate contours.
